KatPath.com release 14, New Template 100% Green
In order to celebrate this year Earth Day we are going GREEN! Green all the way, green like in Irish Green, like in little Green Man from Space, Green like EARTH Green. In order to do our part for the planet we redesign the whole site and optimized all scripts. Compress code and graphics as much as we can while keeping the quality.
Why changing the look of the site is green?
Small & fast site = less hard disk space, memory and data base load = less electricity required by the computer = less energy = good for the environment = GREEN.
Like our Hosting partner DreamHost, KatPath.com is now carbon-neutral and is zero carbon footprint oriented.
Following the hardware and software updates done on December we have now updated the interface itself. It’s now release 14! Yes it have been 14 different interface since the site was launched 12 years ago.
We made this website out of 100% recycled and recyclable electrons. If this site was printed it will required more then 33,000 pages. So more then 3 and a half trees where save by having this site on the web.
The update details:
Site interface and graphics are 25% smaller, 27% less database calls, site loading is 30% faster and 5% less memory is required.
Site is now compatible with 99.9% of all browsers. Using valid XHTML 1.0 and CSS Level 3.

DreamHost Server Upgrade
Welcome to WordPress 2.7. Following a few issues with the previous version I decieded not to simply update my version but to start fresh. I moved the MySQL database to a new engine and clean up the fucker. New plugins and skins will be added in the next few days too. Contact me if you see any issues.
My good hosting friends at Dreamhost (Hello Josh and Dallas) have updated their servers this summer and move me to a new box. As you can see it should help a lot! With a 500GB SAS RAID Seagate Barracuda ES.2 enterprise drive I should have enough space to add more shit to my blog
